I have spoken English for over 40 years starting at a specialized school. Then there was a sequence of different institutions, all with a very strong foreign language component (including grad school in the United States). Then what followed was a highly successful career in investment finance with some jobs located in North America, which gave me a fantastic exposure to both linguistic and cultural environment.

So, English language has accompanied me my whole life and proved to be a backbone of my professional success in the chosen field. Now that I have finally completed my corporate career, I decided to focus on something I truly enjoy, and teaching was the most obvious option. Never before have I thought that sharing your knowledge and experiences with other people could be that rewarding. Besides a solid methodological approach the ACE has adopted, I try to bring in little aspects (especially in the conversational part of my lessons) that proved to be highly efficient, as some of them are drawn from methods known to have been a part of language training at intelligence schools at some time.

Given how the world has become interconnected the role of the English language can hardly be overestimated. Science, for example, will remain predominantly in the English language space for decades, if not centuries, to come. Decent language competences will open doors that otherwise will stay shut for you, thus limiting how far you can go in your professional endeavors.
